Pregnancy Plus has offices in Anderson, Pendleton and Marion. For more information, please call 765-298-2229 for the Anderson and Pendleton offices or 765-664-5772 for the Marion office.

Maternity

Pregnancy Plus provides free pregnancy tests on a walk-in basis. The hours for these are Monday through Thursday, 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.

Individualized prenatal care is provided by certified nurse midwives at Pregnancy Plus. They are specially trained to care for you and your baby throughout pregnancy. Key philosophies guiding the midwives' care are healthy lifestyle choices, education, information and active participation in health care decisions by each woman and her family.

The nurse midwife continuously assesses the health of both mom and baby through routine check ups. If needed, the nurse midwife can order special tests and procedures according to each patient's individual situation.

In addition to Pregnancy Plus, Community Anderson offers a variety of education services to prepare the family for birth and parenting.

The Prenatal Substance Use Prevention Program is also located within Pregnancy Plus. This program provides education, referrals and early intervention for substance abuse during pregnancy.

When you are ready for birth, your midwife, as well as the staff of New Generations Birth Place, will assist you in the process. Waiting for you will be a comfortable Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) room. Whirlpools are also available for your enhanced comfort and relaxation.

Each family is provided support and education to assist in the adjustment period after birth. Individual and group instruction are available in baby care, parenting, exercise, breastfeeding and healthy lifestyle choices.

Pregnancy Plus provides a social worker to help you access community agencies and receive their services. The social worker is also ready to discuss your concerns and assess your needs.

Staff

Certified nurse-midwives are registered nurses who have received additional education in midwifery. Our philosophy is to promote healthy lifestyle choices, education and information about options. We believe that each woman and her family should participate in health care decisions. Midwives believe that the normal processes of pregnancy and birth can be enhanced through education, health care and medical intervention when necessary.

Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses who have received additional education in advanced practice. They provide prenatal, postpartum and health education. The Pregnancy Plus nurses are trained to provide emotional support and education.

OB-GYN physicians are available to Pregnancy Plus patients for consultation, co-management or referral for potential or current complications.
