Education: To help the patient understand the condition and treat the condition, a staff member will share their knowledge of: anatomy, common problems associated with childbearing or postoperative recovery, goals of exercise and avoidance of activities which could aggravate a specific condition.
Therapeutic Exercise: The use of exercises to increase muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility may be used to help enhance urinary and bowel control, enhance relaxation, breathing and improve posture, balance and safety training.
Modalities: Your therapist may use biofeedback, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat or ice to allow for decreased pain and increased muscle control
Home Program: Each patient will receive a home program that may include instructions in self-management, exercises for home, bladder and bowel control training and safe activity positions.
