Summit Convalescent Center

Set in the charming rural setting of Summitville, this 34-bed, Medicaid-certified intermediate facility creates a friendly environment. Large windows and birdfeeders allow for relaxing viewing of nature. Respite care and hospice services are also offered.

In a recent survey conducted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Summit received a superior rating of five stars, denoting them a facility that is "much above average." This survey considers a facility's nursing home staffing, health inspections and quality measures.

In 2008, Summit implemented an Electronic Medication Administration System, the only one of its kind in Madison County. It is specially designed to protect against medication errors.

As a smaller facility, the staff and residents at Summit cultivate a genuine familial environment where residents truly feel at home.

"The staff at Summit Convalescent Center was waiting with smiling faces and gentle hands to welcome (my aunt) and help her get her established in her new routine. What could have been a frightening and confusing time became simply a new beginning at another loving home." (Rachel S.)

"Thank you for the excellent care you gave to Mother during her stay. You certainly made things easier for me to cope with knowing that all of you cared. Thank you seems so small, but that's all I can say." (Jodie S.)

"There are truly no words that express our thanks for all you've done and the compassion you've shown for our mother in her time with you. When we were unable to give her the care she needed, you all stepped up and provided that for her, which gave us great comfort knowing she was in good hands. You allowed us to spend time and enjoy our visits with her without the worry of her care." (Mark and Kimberly P.)
