Community Hospital Anderson announced today that its cancer program is now affiliated with the nationally-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Network®, a program of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The affiliation means the certified physicians have access to evidence-based guidelines, treatment plans and concordance studies provided by MD Anderson experts. Since U.S. News & World Report began its annual "Best Hospitals" survey in 1990, MD Anderson Cancer Center has been named among the top two in cancer care-and No. 1 for 10 of the past 13 years.
"We are very proud to have achieved this milestone in providing cancer care for patients in Madison County," said Beth Tharp, president of Community Hospital Anderson. "Our affiliation with the national network of one of the top cancer centers in the nation means that local patients can receive MD Anderson quality of care standards close to home. Our facilities and program all passed rigorous certification measures to be aligned with the MD Anderson Cancer Network."
