Community Hospital Anderson is now a certified member of MD Anderson Cancer Network®, a program of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This collaboration provides certified physicians at Community's Cancer Care center with access to evidence-based guidelines, treatment plans and concordance studies developed by MD Anderson experts. These are disease-specific guidelines for cancer treatment, prevention, early detection and follow-up care, bringing new hope to local cancer patients.
Community Hospitals North and East became affiliated with MD Anderson in 2012, and the patient experiences and results from that collaboration have been phenomenal. U.S. News & World Report has ranked MD Anderson as one of the top two hospitals in cancer care every year since they began the annual "America’s Best Hospitals" survey in 1990. Clearly, MD Anderson is a powerful force in the fight against cancer.
William Murphy, M.D., chairman of the MD Anderson Physicians Network, said it best: "We don't collaborate with just anyone. When oncologists collaborate, patients benefit. We are confident this will raise the bar even higher for cancer care in Indiana."
