Quality Statistics
Pneumonia Care: How do we compare?
At CHA, we take pride in the care we provide. To monitor the quality of that care, we track specific quality measures and compare them to benchmark measures. We publish this information so that you can see how effective Community Hospital Anderson is in the treatment of pneumonia patients.

National pneumonia treatment guidelines recommend that one dose of an antibiotic be given to pneumonia patients within four hours of arrival at the hospital. This four hour "door-to-antibiotic time" is associated with better outcomes of pneumonia patients. CHA should be at or above the national benchmark. |

CHA tracks its median door-to-antibiotic time for pneumonia patients for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). JCAHO - which sets standards by which health care quality is measured - is an independent, not-for-profit organization, governed by a board that includes physicians, nurses, and consumers. This is one of the core measures JCAHO uses to assess quality of care for pneumonia patients. CHA should be at or below the national benchmark. |
